Why we offer these tools for free

Most people meet a domain problem at the worst possible moment: email that stops arriving, a certificate warning on launch day, a website that works for you but not for a customer. Diagnosing those problems usually means juggling several unrelated tools, each showing part of the picture in its own jargon. We built one set of domain tools for our own dashboard, and we think the everyday checks should be open to anyone, so here they are with no account needed.

What is on this page

The ten domain tools cover the checks that come up most often, and the technical SEO tools below them cover the files and tags that control how search engines crawl and show your site. The domain health check gives an overall score out of 100 across DNS, email, SSL/TLS, security and website settings. The DNS lookup and propagation checker show what your records say and whether a change has spread. Three email tools, the SPF, DKIM and DMARC checkers, plus the MX lookup, help you get your messages delivered and stop others imitating your domain. The SSL checker and security headers checker look after the website itself, and the WHOIS lookup shows who manages a domain and when it expires.

How the tools work

Each check runs on our servers using public information: DNS records, the registry’s own registration data, and ordinary requests to the website you name. Nothing is changed on your domain, nothing is sent to your visitors and no email is sent. Because the lookups are made independently, your local network, VPN or browser cache cannot colour the result, so you see what the wider internet sees. Every result is written in plain English, with the problems listed first and a short explanation of why each one matters.

Fair use and privacy

To keep the tools fast and available to everyone, each visitor can run a limited number of checks per minute, hour and day, and every request has to pass a short automatic security check that takes about a second. If you reach a limit, wait a little and try again. We keep the domain you enter and a scrambled form of your IP address for 30 days, only to apply these limits, as our privacy policy explains.

When a one-off check is not enough

A free tool answers the question you have today. Domains keep changing, though: a colleague edits a record, a certificate renewal fails quietly, or a registration creeps towards its expiry date. The SEO Web Data dashboard includes more than seventy domain tools, and it goes further than lookups. Reports are saved with a score history, domains can be watched every week with alerts when a score drops or a record changes, and results sit next to your site audits, keyword rank tracking, Search Console data and client reports.

If you look after several websites, that combination saves real time. You can see a domain problem and the pages it affects in one place, hand a client a clear report, and know about a change before anyone else does. Every plan starts with a free trial, so you can run the full toolkit against your own domains before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools really free?

Yes. You can use every tool on this page without an account or a card. Fair-use limits keep them fast for everyone.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Signing up is optional and unlocks the full toolkit, saved reports, higher limits and weekly monitoring.

What happens to the domains I check?

We keep the domain you enter and a scrambled form of your IP address for 30 days, only to enforce fair-use limits.

Are the results reliable?

They come from live lookups made from our servers, so they are not affected by your local network. They show what the public internet sees.
