Free Redirect Map Builder
Paste the old URLs from before a migration and the new URLs after it. We suggest the best match for each and show a confidence score.
Free, with no sign-up. Fair-use limits apply. Text you paste is processed and not stored. To enforce the limits we keep any domain or address you enter and a scrambled form of your IP address for 30 days, as described in our privacy policy.
The slowest part of a migration
When a site is rebuilt, hundreds of old addresses need a new home. Matching them by hand is slow and mistakes lose traffic. This tool compares the words in each address, favours identical final page names and pairs each old URL with its closest new one.
How to use it
Paste the old addresses in the first box, the new ones in the second, one per line, and press Build redirect map. Each old address is shown with its suggested destination and a confidence score. Exact matches are marked, and addresses with no good match are listed so you can decide by hand.
Check the low scores
Treat the map as a first draft. Review every low-confidence pair. Send a page without a real equivalent to the closest relevant category rather than the home page. Then convert the final list with the redirect converter.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I get the old URLs?
From your sitemap, a crawl of the old site, your analytics landing pages and Search Console, so you include pages that have traffic or links.
How accurate are the suggestions?
They are based on similarity of the address text, so they work best when page names carry meaning. Always review them.
Can I map thousands of URLs?
The free version accepts up to 40,000 characters in each box. An account handles larger lists.
